Wicked Fans, old and new, were treated to a funny surprise during the last performance of the new Idina Menzel show, Sequoia. After the performance of last night, Kristin Chenweth joined his former Wicked Co-star on stage to sing “for good” for the charity, Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aida.
The Co-Star of Menzel, Michael Park, led Chenuweth on the scene before talking about the organization of Broadway Cares and tell the public that the original Elphaba and Glinda on Broadway would sing a duo. There was also a fun opportunity for the crowd: they held an auction of donations and the biggest bidders could go on stage with Chenuweth and Menzel for a “little meeting” while the pair sang.

Two women won the offer with a donation of $ 8,000 each – bringing the total of the night to $ 16,000 – and were brought on stage to join the two old Wicked Stars. “I’m going to forget the words,” said Menzel, after making a two -hour program before starting to sing. “But maybe you can help me.”
The two rebounded in this playful performance while the charitable winners sang and swayed in the background. At one point, Menzel had trouble hitting a note and said: “It was flat”, and did it without a hitch. Once the two finished, the public was brought in their place and shower the women with applause.
