IDF cracks down on terrorists freed in hostage deal – Israel News

The Israeli military said on Sunday that in light of the release of around 80 Palestinians arrested or convicted in the West Bank as part of the ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, it would ensure that Hamas keeps its head down in the region.

Additionally, the IDF said it had reinforcements linked to seven companies to deploy much larger numbers of troops at key intersections and on many roads across the West Bank.

Additionally, the army said it had received reinforcements of special forces, including from Egoz and commando units, to pursue even more attacks than usual against Palestinian terrorism in the West Bank in the near future. .

Return to terror

The release of Palestinians will mainly take place at the Beitunya checkpoint.

The Israeli military nevertheless said it recognized that some of those released, particularly young Palestinians, had a high chance of returning to terror and would monitor the releases.

The Israeli military said it had already killed three Palestinian terrorists who were released in the West Bank during the November 2023 hostage exchange, when they returned to terror.
