I use this radiance-boosting serum to blur pores and fade dark spots

High school presented its own set of challenges, but dealing with hormonal acne wasn’t one of them for me. I’ve played the genetic lottery in this sense: virtually everyone in my family has had smooth, crystal-clear skin their entire lives. That was the case for me too, until about two years ago when I went off birth control. I expected changes in my body, after being on the pill for over 10 years, but nothing could have prepared me for the incessant acne breakouts.

I weathered that storm and things have calmed down since then, but I’m still left with hyperpigmentation. I’ve tried tons of products on the market to reduce these dark spots, but the only thing that has really made a difference is Eadem’s Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum.

Eadem Milk Marvel Anti-Dark Spot Serum

Eadem

Founded by women of color, Eadem’s serum is formulated specifically for melanistic skin to plump, hydrate, minimize pores and fade stubborn dark spots. The fragrance-free serum is infused with amber algae and an encapsulated form of vitamin C, which work to brighten, fight signs of aging, and even out skin tone without stripping your complexion. It also contains glycerin, which pushes moisture deeper into the skin, and niacinamide to soothe inflammation, improve skin texture, and fight new breakouts.

Implementing Milk Marvel serum into my already established routine was easy. I apply it after cleansing my face and use the dropper to distribute three lines of serum to problem areas like my cheeks and forehead. Its light, milky consistency absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving a radiant and plump complexion immediately after application. My pores are also much smaller and textured areas are softened. I use the serum three to four times a week, making sure to apply sunscreen afterward to prevent skin sensitivity, and I haven’t experienced any new breakouts yet.

After about five months of consistent use, my dark spots became noticeably lighter without fading my skin’s natural color like other dark spot treatments I’ve used. My pores are much smaller even on days I don’t use the serum, and my complexion looks much brighter and younger overall. Even Serena Williams mentions using milk serum after pregnancy to combat dark spots in a recent skincare routine video with Vogue.
