I made more than 50 cruises with a range of lines and I love a good balcony room.
I reserve them on most navigations so that I can enjoy the view and the breeze of the ocean in the morning, then in the evening while I relaxed.
Some of my favorite lines with which navigate are the Royal Caribbean and Virgin trips, because the two have ships with tons of activities on board that go to interesting destinations. However, the rooms of each line can be quite different from a ship.
Here’s how my most recent balcony huts aboard the Utopia of the seas and Virgin Virgin, the adults of Virgin, have booked.
The Royal Caribbean Balcony Rooms tend to be small but effective.
Megan Dubois
When I sailed on the utopia of the seas of Royal Caribbean, my space was small – only 181 square feet with a balcony of 50 square feet – but the room was clearly put in place in mind.
The cabin had a King bed that could convert into two twins, plus a sofa that turned into a double sofa bed. I loved that the bed is high enough to be able to put my suitcase under it after unpacking.
Utopia balcony cabins have a lot of storage space.
Megan Dubois
Given that Utopia generally sails by routes of three and four nights from Port Canaveral, Florida, I didn’t need to bring a lot.
Even so, there was a lot of storage even if I had done it. My bedroom had two cupboards and a set of drawers in the main living room, which is suitable for everything for a three -night sail.
The balcony was large enough for two people.
Megan Dubois
I traveled with a guest and I found that the balcony was large enough for both of us, with two chairs and a small table.
But I didn’t like the bathroom in my room on utopia.
Megan Dubois
The cruising bathrooms are notoriously small, but it made me feel that I had to shrink at the size of a child to adapt comfortably inside.
Although there was a shelf above the sink and one below, I did not have a ton of counter space for my toiletries.
The shower was not even big either.
Megan Dubois
The lack of storage in the bathroom and the little dark shower was a big disappointment for me.
On the other hand, my balcony room on the valiant lady was even smaller.
Megan Dubois
My balcony room on Virgin Voyages by Virgin Voyages, was 185 square feet, including the balcony, and could accommodate two people.
The room had a minimalist design with a Queen bed that could be divided into two twins. I did not like the beds not high enough for me to put my suitcases below, because it limited my storage space.
My room also had a single chair if I didn’t want to sit on the bed.
I continued to hope that I had more storage.
Megan Dubois
In terms of storage, there was a small set of shelves attached to the office and a cupboard with a ride-in-law.
The closet had shelves with garbage cans for things like socks and swimwear. It would have been good to have a dresser.
My balcony was tall and I loved the hammock.
Megan Dubois
I love how spacious the balconies tend to be spacious on virgin travel ships.
On this sail, my outdoor space had two chairs, a small table and a red hammock. I spent many afternoons looking at the ocean in the hammock.
In my opinion, this bathroom was more pleasant than that of utopia.
Megan Dubois
Although the two ships have tiny bathrooms, I liked the configuration of Virgin Voyages better.
The toilets were in front of the shower instead of him, who felt more comfortable. The brilliant lighting around the space has also helped the bathroom to feel larger.
The shower also had a light inside.
Megan Dubois
The shower was quite shiny and also had a precipitation shower head, which looked like a luxurious touch.
I do not know if this shower was technically larger than that of utopia, but it was certainly as if it was.
Overall, I think Royal Caribbean’s utopia had the best balcony room.
Megan Dubois
If I had to choose the ship on which to navigate strictly on the balcony rooms, I would choose the utopia of the Royal Caribbean.
I loved the big storage in my room, even if the bathroom was not my favorite. For most travelers, however, the cost will be the largest factor when choosing a ship.
By comparing two sails of four nights to come for utopia and the valiant Lady, the balcony rooms on Virgin were much cheaper. A balcony room for two in April is about $ 2,300 on the valiant lady and about $ 3,400 on the utopia.
However, prices are often changing and cabins are not necessarily the only decisive factor when booking a cruise. It is important to also look at the advantages and ports of each ship before selecting your next sail.
