Dominic West took on the role of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, in the final two seasons of The crown. The actor was close to Prince Harry at one point, but recently revealed they had a fallout.
“We kind of (lost contact because) I said too much at a press conference, and so we didn’t talk after that,” he said during an appearance on Radio Times.
Asked why they had a fallout, West said: “I think I was asked what we did… (and) what we did to celebrate when we got there and I probably said something too much. »
Although West didn’t give many details about what he said, it was in 2014 when, during a press conference, he spoke about an expedition across Antarctica with military veterans wounded, which included the Duke of Sussex. West said the royal was “very much part of the team.”
“He seemed to specialize in building latrines,” West said at the time. “He built this incredible castellated structure with blocks to protect against the wind and it even had a toilet roll holder.”
Of using the toilet built by the prince, the actor said: “Sitting there, looking at the beautiful view, thinking ‘this is a royal flush, in every way’.”
Although West was closed to Harry at one point, he was not when he played Prince Charles in the Netflix series and therefore did not get the Duke of Sussex’s advice on how to play his father.
