In our “Why I Run” series, Boston Marathon runners share what inspired them to do the 26.2 mile hike from Hopkinton to Boston. If you run the marathon, you can share your #WhyImRunningBoston story here.

Name: Christophe Beels
Age: 32
From: Boston

I run the Boston Marathon virtually in honor of my father and everyone who has been touched by ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. The impact of ALS on my father’s life inspired me to raise awareness of this disease and pushed me to run for those who cannot.

It is for this reason that I run with a sense of pride, privilege and honor.

I love you dad!
