I was disappointed after opening my Chile. Chile was more sassy, with little meat or beans, and there was not many. However, there was a decent layer of Nacho cheese below.
Portillo uses poppy seeds for their cheese dogs with chili, and although it is a delicious option, I don’t think it provides the support that this dish needs. Although bread does not break, things have messy and it has become more a problem to eat than Freddy’s option.
However, the best part of Chile Cheese Dog was the hot dog itself. Portillo uses beef products Vienna, signature sausage for a chicago style hot dog. Together, the Hot-Dog and the Vienna poppy seed bread caused Chile to be worthy of the additional mess.
Chicken offers also tasted good, but overall, I was disappointed with them. The panel was thick and had a good crunch in certain places, but left little or no chicken in other bites.
Since the tenders were fried fresh, I torn them in two to allow everyone to cool more quickly, but in doing so, the panel started to slide, leaving me with pieces of naked white meat.
Finally, I ordered a big Milk-Shake because Portillo had no average option. My shock came in a huge cup and was $ 0.10 less than the environment I received at Freddy’s. He wanted to drink a thicker version of the vanilla ice cream with soft service.
