I fought Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, but both were “leaps and bounds” away from the “incredible power” of a 6-foot-8 giant

Frazer Clarke shared the ring with several big punchers.

The fast-rising British heavyweight contender was Anthony Joshua’s training partner for a long period during his time with Team GB Boxing in Sheffield, when both men were under the tutelage of Robert McCracken.

In the meantime, he has also worked with Joshua’s next opponent, Daniel Dubois, who had a brief stint with the podium team before turning professional.

Throughout the build-up to the fight, boxing forums have been filled to the brim with theories about which Briton has the greater punching power.

Clarke insists Joshua lands more punches in one shot, but says none of them can hit as hard as David Price.

Speaking to Boxing Social ahead of the IBF heavyweight title fight between Joshua and Dubois on September 14, he said: “It’s a really competitive and good fight. I still have AJ as the favourite.”

“But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: If (Dubois) isn’t the biggest hitter I’ve been around, he’s probably in the top three or four. He can really hit.”

“It’s a different type of shot. I think on one shot it’s probably Joshua, just because he comes with a little bit more speed.

“They arrive abruptly, but Dubois is a real shock. Both are miles away from David Price.

“Fuck. Jesus Christ. That was a whole different story. And I was young at the time, probably 17, 18. It was an experience.

“I think he was taking it easy, too. In terms of a single shot, David Price… incredible power. Unbelievable.”

Price, a former British heavyweight champion and Olympic bronze medallist, was known for his one-punch power.

Over a professional career that spanned from 2009 to 2019, Price compiled a 25-6 record, including 20 wins inside the distance.

By all accounts, the 2.03m Liverpudlian didn’t hold back in the fights either.

In 2011, Price took part in a closed-door training session with Joshua, where he allegedly knocked the Briton out.

Daniel Dubois Says His Time Has Come, Tells Anthony Joshua He Will Reign For A Long Time

AJ has since confirmed that the story was true, although the cards were significantly stacked against him given the ordeal he went through the night before they traded leather.

“I think I was working Thursday through Sunday because I was doing a refresher course,” he told media in 2018.

“I was arrested on the way to training camp, for trouble.

“I went out on Saturday and went over there. I came through the train station. I think he (Price) was very good at the time, very strong.

“And I was making too many mistakes. Those circumstances don’t help when you’re fighting an elite fighter.

“I even had to take the train to Sheffield because they confiscated my car – just to show my commitment. What I learned is that you can’t stop someone like me.

“They say there are two types of fighters: those who fall and those who stay down. But the ones to be wary of are those who keep moving forward.

“You can’t stop someone like that. I’ve learned that it takes more than strength or resistance to stop me.”
