I experienced a silent fissure ” 15 years ago, before it was a fashionable word

This test also filed is based on a conversation with Kevin Ford, a 56 -year -old retiree who lives in Las Vegas. It has been changed for duration and clarity.

I was in an intermediate management position. At first, I loved it. I think that is what is happening with many of these people who break quietly: they love it at first, but some series of events lead to a disalping.

I had brought my team to the point where they did good by themselves. They had problems, I made them work gently, then I thought: “I don’t know if I provide any more value.”

While I was crossing a simultaneous MBA program, I realized that there were many other things in the business world that I also wanted to do, but there were not many opportunities in the company.

For quiet cracks to happen, two things must be at stake: there must be a reason why you think you cannot leave the business, and there must also be an dissatisfaction point.

There were many reasons why I felt that I couldn’t leave.

Some of them were financial. I think that’s why it comes back – I bet it happens at any time when the labor market is tightened. People are starting to feel that they cannot leave their jobs. We make ourselves in different levels of financial commitments and mortgage loans, and we are starting to feel trapped.

The great recession took place in 2007. I started to strike it perhaps a year later, so the market was not completely recovered. It played a role, certainly.

Another part was that I was doing an MBA program and I had commitments to work on payment.

I also felt good responsibility for people who worked for me. One of my organization’s disalgesment was that I had different feelings about how people should be treated. I felt that I had to stay to protect these people.

Whether I managed to protect them or not, I don’t know. But I felt this pressure.

It starts to eat you. Day after day, you feel trapped there and you start hyper-feeing about what’s going on at work and why it doesn’t happen as you need it. I thought about it all the time and I had flashbacks on these different events that were not satisfied at work.

It is an extremely self -destructive behavior.

Over time, it has also started to affect my work performance, because you cannot live like that. It’s not good for the employer, and it’s not good for you.

I finally left the organization, which took about a year and a half.

Something I learned in my MBA program was that they use the familiar term “for you money”, which always has the financial means to be able to get you out of a bad situation. But we know that it is not a realistic expectation.

If I left early, it would have been much healthier in the long term. It was probably 10 years before I was really over. It would have been a large cost to leave early, but it was not compared to the residence permit in the situation.
