Fans of South Park We won’t be seeing any jokes about former President Donald Trump anytime soon.
South Park Creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have acknowledged they have nothing more to say about Trump, while revealing that the long-running Comedy Central series will not return until after the November election.
When asked in a Vanity Fair Asked if the show’s long hiatus was intended to avoid the whole Trump conundrum, Stone said: “Honestly, it’s on purpose.”
Stone and Parker spoke to the magazine about their careers, while also touching on The South Park history of mocking Trump.
“We tried to do South Park “We’re going through four or five presidential elections, and it’s such a difficult thing to do, it’s such a mental scramble, and it seems to take on an outsized importance,” Stone said. “Obviously it’s very important, but it takes over everything and we’re not having as much fun.”
Parker added: “I don’t know what more we could say about Trump.”
They also revealed South Park The studio won’t return until 2025, avoiding the November election. “We waited for Paramount to work out all its problems,” Parker said, referring to the studio’s tortuous takeover process.
But not talking about Trump?, the magazine asks. “Honestly, it’s on purpose,” Stone said.
