I am so excited not to have babies in the house

After the birth of my third child, my doctor said it might be wise not to have more children. My three pregnancies and my work had been Difficult for different reasons. I remember being devastated by suggestion.

I had always considered having at least four children. Coming from a small family, I knew that my children would not have an extended family with which to grow, so I wanted to be able to Give them a lot of brothers and sisters who would be there through thick and thin life. I imagined huge family meetings during the holidays, with friends, boyfriends, husbands, women and all their children gathered at home, play games, eat meals, make walks and watch films.

I look at my youngest, now 6 years old, slightly afflicted I will never have a baby Again. More endless hugs on my shoulder, new baby’s head odors or tiny fingers gripping mine. More potted feet or tiny clothes. When mine were babies, I was their world – something I felt at the time – but now terribly missing.

However, as much as I miss this baby season, I kiss life with my older children, aged 11, 9 and 6 years old.

Time alone exists again

Even if a part of me liked to be necessary to literally keep a baby or a toddler alive, it seemed claustrophobic most often. I remember reverie to spend a full day Far from my breastfed baby And to exercise or go out with a friend without my eye over time.

I learn what I still like – hiking, wild swimming, cappuccinos in pretty cafes and seeing uninterrupted friends.

When I Drop them at school Gates at 8:30 am, I know that I can work for the next six hours without distraction.

I can get things done around the house

All household chores were precipitated. Can I hug me in cleaning, cooking, laundry, dishes or life administrator during a nap or after children fall asleep for the night?

If they were awake, I would make things happen around the house with the baby in a baby envelope, putting a variety of toys around my toddler, which was closed with a baby door.

Now, I send them outside to play on the trampoline, suggest toys in their room, or simply stick the TV for them while I continue with everything that should do. They can be occupied independently while I continue with what to be done in the house.

Getting out of the house is a million times easier

Diapers. Wipes. Chew toys. Bottles. Pacifications. Medicine. Snacks. Bib. Blanket. Spare clothes.

The list of things I needed to stuff in a bag before leaving the house with babies and toddlers was endless.

I would also mentally list my plan in the event of a problem when we were released. What if they had an explosive poop? What if they made a crisis of anger in the middle of the grocery store? What if they needed a nap? What if we were stuck in traffic?

And planning a vacation was like part -time job. We rarely went far because everything was far too stressful.

These days, I just shout that it is time to leave, and as if by magic, everyone gathers at the door. Even if I have to remind them to use the bathroom, put shoes, brush their teeth and maybe repair their shirts inside, get out is so much easier now.

We can make a lot of memories together

I had always hesitated to spend money on activities when the children were small. The outings were generally quite stressful, and they would not remember what we had crossed such an effort to do anyway.

We have involuntarily saved a lot of money by choosing to do things at home when the children were small, but now we use a larger part of our budget on the days, the pastime and the treatment activities.

During the past year, we have presented them to the musical theater, mountain walking, climbing, big cities and travel.

I regularly switched each of the children for a special moment head -to -head – a hot drink and a cake – hopes that one day, they will remember all the pleasure they had with their mom.

The conversation is engaging

Last week, my 9 -year -old child wanted to talk about racism in our community. My 11 -year -old child likes to discuss science and business. My 6 year old child recently asked me questions about the religious opinions of people of different confessions.

They are engaged in a way that they were unable to be when they were younger.

Another enormous advantage is growing is that they roll me laughing. They each have their own sense of humor full of spirit, full of sarcasm and intelligence. I love him.

Someone told me once children should not be the best friends with their parents – that it blurs the limits. I am completely disagreeing.

As my children age, they become people I can’t wait to spend time. I miss their business when I am far from them and savor it when they are nearby.

Although I always want more babies to be an option, I am happy and incredibly happy to be a mother of children who are a little older.
