I am homeless — I work full time, but I stay in a motel to get by

A British woman has gone viral on TikTok for claiming she has been homeless for over a year, sharing her journey of staying in a motel while working full time.
Kayleigh Lindon, who says she is employed as a home health aide, often details her daily routine to her nearly 40,000 followers on the social media platform.
She says she was placed in the temporary accommodation by her local council while looking for permanent accommodation.
In a clip with 1.4 million views, Lindon prepares for the day by explaining how the council renews its hotel rooms every week.
She says check-out time often comes in the middle of her working day, so she has to pack her things early in the morning when she leaves for work, carry them with her as her stay may not be re-booked.
“Not what I need before a really long shift today,” she lamented in the clip, which was simply captioned: “Stress.”
In a viral video about her meals, Lindon revealed that she rarely eats lunch during the week, but feasts on McDonald’s on Fridays.
She also consumed a cup of coffee at work, a sandwich for lunch, and fish and chips for dinner that day.
She said it was a “good day for eating” and “it’s not always like that”.
“Obviously it’s a Friday, so I ate well this morning. I’ve had about three meals, but there are days when I’ll have a yogurt and that’s it until 8 p.m. the night I might get a sandwich – if I’m lucky,” said she shared.

In the comments, people were appalled that Lindon could work full time and barely afford to eat – let alone find accommodation.
“Absolutely shocking that this young woman is working and homeless,” wrote one stunned person who received over 12,000 likes on the comment. “The government must step in and help him!” She is clearly doing her best.
“No one should have to say it’s Friday so I had lunch,” another user said. “I hope everything goes well for you.”
Others couldn’t understand how anyone could be homeless, but afford the nail and eyelash treatments that Lindon confessed she receives.
A TikToker claimed she could put the cost of her eyelash extensions “to save for a house.”
The Post has contacted Lindon for comment.

Lindon claims she became homeless after leaving college, unable to return to her mother.
She said she initially stayed with friends and boyfriends until she was finally granted accommodation by the council.
“I want to document it for myself because I’ll probably never see it again — hopefully,” she explained, referring to her TikTok series about being homeless. “And try to see the bright side of things.”

Lindon’s most recent clips feature her search for an apartment – and her announcement that she has started a new job.
His videos have reached millions of viewers, motivating young people also facing housing insecurity.
“This is so inspiring,” wrote one viewer. “I am 18 years old and I live in a residence [accommodations] without work, without income and without food, I need your motivation!
Others share their best wishes for Lindon, saying they hope she finds long-term accommodation soon.
