A crash involving a school bus in suburban Chicago Monday afternoon left one person injured, Illinois State Police said.
The crash happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Interstate 290 near I-390 in Cook County, the ISP said.
According to the Mount Prospect Park District, a total of 55 children were on a field trip to the Enchanted Castle in suburban Lombard when the accident occurred. Seven adult directors were also on board at the time, state police said.
An adult was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries. No children were hospitalized as a result of the accident, according to school district officials.
A shuttle was arranged to transport the children from the scene, while a school bus took most of the children back to the park district, officials said.
