Hurricane 4th, Wildcats 9th at Blanchester Invitational


BLANCHESTER — Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School wrestling team finished fourth Saturday at the Blanchester Middle School Invitational.

The Hurricane had 140.5 points while the Lebanese Championship finished with 291. Blanchester finished ninth while East Clinton finished 15th.

Wilmington had back-to-back champions with Max McCoy winning at 104 (pin in 2:51) and Josiah Puller winning at 110 (pin in 58 seconds). Ioan Cioca hit a pin in 1:12 to win the 160 title. Billy Skinner was third at 80 pounds.

Blanchester’s Laylla Sears took the top spot at 86lbs, posting a 4-0 victory over CNE’s Destin Sheilds in the title match. Blanchester’s Kane Scott finished second at 245 pounds, losing 8-5 in the championship game.
