Atlanta – Cincinnati’s right -hander, Hunter Greene, left Wednesday evening’s match against the Braves of Atlanta after only three rounds due to a right -off injury.
Greene withdrew six strikers and granted only two strokes before he was unable to complete his warm -up on the fourth round mound. Greene launched only two warm -up lands, including a last throw that struck the dirt, before stopping her routine.
Greene immediately attracted a crowd to the mound that included the Infileders Reds, a sports coach and Manager Terry Francona. After a brief meeting, Greene was escorted out of the field with the Reds leading 4-0. The Reds later announced that the groin injury led to Greene’s early release.
Greene came out of 12 stick withdrawals of the season, the second highest total of her great career in the league, in a 6-1 victory against Washington on Friday evening.
Greene was again clear against the brave. The 25 -year -old right -hander removed the side in the second. Alex Verdugo fulminated on the quick ball of 101 mph from Greene in the third round to give right -handers six withdrawals to the stick.
The left -handed left -wing replaced Greene on the mound.
