Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff were busy making media to promote the real American Freestyle Wrestling (RAF), which should be launched with its first event which takes place on August 30.
Hogan told TMZ that “reality TV and scripted stuff does not arise” as it was before, and live sports are where it is. He reiterated that the idea is to bring people to worry about the RAF fights by making stories about athletes as you might see The voice. Hogan mentioned Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle and the current star of the Aew Shelton Benjamin as examples of athletes who opened their eyes to the sky being the limit of amateur wrestlers who understand how to market and mark themselves.
“I was in the ring with really crazy wrestlers. Like, I had Brock Lesnar just after leaving the UFC. I got it first. I had Kurt Angle when its eyeballs used for all these different guys who had the opportunity to see the adaptation.
It is a creaky moment when Hogan reverses the first names and family names of Shelton Benjamin during this answer; It seems to undermine his point of view on the power of the stars when he cannot even get the name of the guy.
Benjamin’s mixture could be a simple error made at the moment, but Hogan’s claim for the first guy to fight Lesnar after leaving the UFC is in fact wrong, and something Hogan has already said in interviews.
