The Tony Awards, the annual event honoring the best work in Broadway, take place this evening (Sunday June 8). This is the 78th Tony award ceremony.

What time does the show start?
The television part of the ceremony begins at 8 p.m. in the east (5 p.m. Pacific) at the Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. The broadcast should last three hours.
Where can I look at?
The main event, with prices for games, musicals and artists, will be a television on CBS. For those who do not have a network television, it is a little more complicated: in the United States, it will broadcast on Paramount +, but only Paramount + with Showtime subscribers can broadcast it live, via their local CBS affiliate; Otherwise, it can be broadcast on request from the next day.
Who hosts?
The broadcasting ceremony will be organized by Cynthia Erivo, a powerful singer, better known for having played under the name of Elphaba in the films “Wicked”. She herself is a winner of Tony, for a 2015 revival of “The Color Purple”. The broadcast will present the performances of 11 of the Broadway musicals of last season, as well as the original distribution of “Hamilton” in honor of the 10th anniversary of this program. The presenters will include Oprah Winfrey, Charli d’Amalio, Bryan Cranston, Samuel L. Jackson, Adam Lambert and Keanu Reeves.
Is there a non-baked part of the ceremony?
Yes. There is a preshow ceremony, from 6:40 p.m., the east, during which many prizes for the creative teams will be awarded. This event will be organized by Darren Criss and Renée Elise Goldsberry, and can be broadcast for free on Pluto TV (click on the “Live Music” channel in the “Entertainment” category).
What is eligible?
The 21 pieces and 21 musicals that opened in Broadway between April 26, 2024 and April 27, 2025 are eligible for prices this year. Prices will be granted in 26 competitive categories. The most nominated shows are the musicals “Buena Vista Social Club”, “Death becomes her” and “perhaps happy fine”, with 10 appointments each.
