How to watch Samsung reveal its Android XR headset

Editor’s note: Samsung has officially announced the $1,800 Galaxy XR headset. You can read our practical information here and how to order the device here.

Samsung is set to officially unveil its highly anticipated Android extended reality (XR) headset, dubbed Project Moohan. The company has scheduled a live event for October 21 at 10 p.m. ET. It’s only a few hours away, which is practically nothing compared to the years leading up to this reveal since Samsung and its partners teased this device.

The event will be broadcast live via the company’s YouTube page and on the official Samsung Newsroom website. We don’t know how long the stream will last, but Samsung promises that Project Moohan will unlock the “true potential” of mixed reality devices. You can bookmark this page and view it here.

This isn’t just a revelation for a mixed reality headset. Moohan is the first-ever device that uses Google’s new Android XR operating system, designed specifically for XR, VR and AR devices such as glasses and headsets. Google also showed glimpses of the ecosystem at its I/O Developer Conference before, and while we’ve already seen pieces of the software (and hardware), the final pieces should be available with today’s keynote.

We don’t have any official specs on the headset itself, but there have been numerous leaks and rumors that will be confirmed or debunked during the stream. Leaks have suggested that it includes a premium display, advanced tracking, and Gemini integration. Those same leaks point to a potential price of $1,800 to $2,800, making it more of a rival to the Apple Vision Pro than Meta’s new Ray-Ban Display glasses.

Updated, October 21, 2025, 2:48 p.m. ET: This story has been updated to highlight that the event takes place in a few hours tonight and to explain how Google has already shown previews of its Android XR platform at its developers conference.
