- The A-League Club wants to be the pride of Sydney’s West
- The Penrith Panthers have the honor for the moment
- Has followed four successive LNR titles since 2021
Western Sydney Wanderers resurfaced have boldly declared their intention to eventually become the main sports team in their region.
This is a comment that will be numerous eyebrows since Penrith won the last four Prime Ministers of the LNR – and played in five large consecutive finals.
Speaking before the semi-final of the elimination of his team in A-League on Saturday evening against Melbourne’s victory at the Commbank stadium in Parramatta, coach Alen Stajcic made no excuse for having targeted big.
“It’s just the start for us,” he told Sydney Morning Herald, thinking about the undefeated race for 12 games from his team.
“I think we can be and must be larger than everyone (rival sports organizations).
“They (nrl) represent a small town: the Penrith Panthers represent Penrith and Parramatta (Eels) represent Parramatta, and we represent everyone, the whole Western front.

“ The demography of our region is young families, migrant families, first generation Australians, second generation Australians – that we know that all come from football, and that is why we could and should be the best (sports) club in the country.
“This is what we aspire to be.
Although panthers and eels do not threaten exactly in their boots, when their team is constantly winning football matches, Wanderers fans are dressed in red and black in healthy number.
It creates an atmosphere rarely seen in the A-League, and if the besieged competition must remain relevant in the national sports landscape, the Wanderers must be at the front and the center.
The famous club base – the RBB – will be in effect in Parramatta while the Wanderers seek to maintain their season alive.
A return to 2014 shows what the club is capable of.
Against all expectations, Tony Popovic’s team won the Asian Champions League, a feat that no other A-League franchise has been able to achieve before or since.
After the epic triumph, it was planned in certain districts that football would launch itself and end up making its potential on the Australian coasts, but unfortunately, the code fell.

Meanwhile, a key figure for Western Sydney on Saturday evening will be Anthony Pantazopoulos, which was recruited in the holding of the Victorian State League Oakleigh Cannons a few years ago.
The imposing defender has won many admirers for his physical nature – and he does not intend to change his game anytime soon.
“I receive more pleasure to go through someone,” said Pantazopoulos.
“I am happy for the team if I score, but personally, there is nothing better than chewing someone, I really prosper.
“If I play an attacker who wants bodily contact in the first minutes, then I am the happiest man alive.
