The Bruins have won an unfortunate place in the LNH draft lottery, but it is always their highest choice since 2011.
Boston has the seventh overall selection of this year’s project. It was the lowest possible choice he could have received at the lottery, but the Director General Don Sweeney has always expressed his optimism on how he and his team could use the selection.
Several NHL experts have been mixed on how Bruins would use their first -round choice. Here’s how they saw it after the recovery lottery on Monday.
Fluto Shinzawa, The Athletic: C Jake O’Brien (Brantford, Ohl)
Cory Woodroof, for victory: C Roger McQueen (Brandon Wheat Kings, WHL)
James Dator, SB Nation: C Roger McQueen
Sam Cosentino, Sportsnet: D Jackson Smith (Tri-City Americans, WHL)
Steve Ellis, Daily play: C Brady Martin (Soo Grayhounds Ohl)
Chris Martin, Flo Hockey: C Roger McQueen
Adam Kimelman, NHL.com: RW Porter Martone (Brampton, Ohl)
Mike G. Morreale, nhl.com: RW Porter Martone
It is important to note that things will obviously change throughout the pre-project process, and the opinions of the experts will be unique depending on the way they see the first six choices. However, McQueen was a popular choice after the Draft lottery because of his skills set corresponding to how Bruins want to play.

“Bruins need more offense, and McQueen has a high ceiling. He could technically go higher than this in the top 10, and he could fall completely,” wrote Woodroof. “However, Boston takes him here and hopes that he can fill the match sheet for the coming years. We know that TD Garden fans would love to see a guy like McQueen in a Boston uniform.”
“Roger McQueen is a monster,” wrote Dator. “The center of 6 feet 5 inches allows its presence to be known on the ice and gives me major vibrations of Joe Thornton in the middle. It may seem incredibly high, but the potential is there. McQueen could become a very special player. ”
NHL.com made a consensus with the choice of Martone. They praised his decision -making with the washer and his High Hockey IQ. The point of sale believes that the right striker can be “a powerful and breaking the game” on the Boston line.
