Washington – When Marty Makary was used to direct the Food and Drug Administration, the Public Health Experts hoped that Johns Hopkins’ doctor would protect the agency from the criticism of his boss’s vaccines, the Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
So far, this has not been. Instead, Makary also seems to be ready to use his power and position to examine vaccines more hard and change the vaccination policy.
During the weekend, he pointed out that the FDA could deviate from the precedent for a long time by demanding that coated vaccine manufacturers submit new efficiency data before adjusting their products for new strains – a regulatory obstacle that could leave people unprotected from new versions of the disease.
