As the count progresses in the states of Madhya Pradesh, the state turns the saffron. The workers and supporters of the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party came out in the streets and started to celebrate by dancing and singing slogans while the trends predicted a comfortable victory for the party.
The workers distributed candy and songs of “Modi, Modi” began to ring aloud. According to the latest data, the BJP marked 162 seats in the assembly of 230 places. The congress is late with 66 seats. With its figures, the BJP crossed the target of 116 to guarantee a victory in the state. By the way, it is much higher than party performance in previous polls – the BJP had then won 109 seats, the congress obtaining 114.
The victory possible in the state is contrary to the exit polls, which had predicted a tight race and some even giving the congress an external chance to avoid the BJP of a state which it dominated since 2003. Four of the nine polls exit had given the BJP a comfortable victory; Three gave more than 139 of the 230 seats of the Assembly.

The BJP won three of the last four elections – since Digvijaya Singh led Congress to consecutive victories in 1993 and 1998. These victories were the last time that the congress defended the state.
Several leaders of the BJP themselves also celebrated the planned victory of the party, with the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan saying: “I said that the BJP would have a comfortable majority and that we get it.”
Union Minister Ashwini Vahnaw also sounded, saying, “It is a big victory for the BJP at Madhya Pradesh. The government of the BJP has done work, people trust the double -engine government, the management of Prime Minister Modi and the performance of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. I congratulate everyone.
As the celebrations take place, we decode the party’s victory in the state and the possible reasons behind.
Meaning of Shivraj Singh Chouhan
Perhaps one of the main reasons for BJP’s planned victory in the state is Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Even if he was not the face of the party campaign this time – there were fears that the feelings of anti -turning work against him – it is difficult to miss his importance for the party.
A quadruple chief minister, Chouhan, popularly known as Mama, continued to work in the state and used its humble image to attract voters. Nor was he afraid of presenting his emotions to the public – he sometimes shed tears while looking for voters and at other times, he told the voters that they would miss when “I am no longer there”.

He also concentrated his campaign on women; He was the star of the “The Ladli Show” of his government, where he replied to the girls. During an event in Burhanpur, he also washed the feet of two women, who then showed him with flower petals.
And despite the fight in the party, Chouhan persevered and contrary to other leaders elsewhere, such as Vasundhara Raje, he kept his silent dissatisfaction and never said or indicated his resentment towards the central management.
In fact, even at a time when the results indicated a victory for the BJP, he attributed it to Prime Minister Modi, rather to himself. “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji is in the heart of the people of Madhya Pradesh. The state is also at the heart of Modi Ji. There is immense faith towards him. Here he held public meetings and called on the people who touched the hearts of the people. Such tendencies result from this, “he was quoted, adding that the electoral campaign obtained the right direction due to the infallible strategy of the Minister of the Interior of the Union, Amit Shah, the councils of the chief From BJP JP Nadda and other leaders and hard work and hard work of party workers.
Women’s power
An important factor in the BJP victory in the state could be their emphasis on voters. The participation of women in the state has only increased over time. Data show that the women’s participation ratio in Madhya Pradesh was 65.9% in the 2008 elections. This reached 70.1% in 2013, 74.0% in 2018 and 76.0% in the current elections of The Assembly.
Realizing that they are a crucial voting bank, the BJP began social protection plans targeting them, in order to court the voters. There is the Ladli Behna program, initiated this year, which provides financial aid worth 1,000 rupees per month to eligible married women aged 23 to 60.
There is also the Ladli Laxmi program, which was launched by the Chouhan government in 2007. Policy requires state monetary aid for girls’ education.
Reacting to the results, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that “plans such as Ladli Behna and Ladli Laxmi touched people in Madhya Pradesh”.
Analysts think that many may have feared that a change in the government of the state will not be able to break or delay future payments and, therefore, has not voted for the congress.
Congress failed to maintain lead
In addition to the influence of Chouhan and social protection schemes, many analysts note that Congress has no new failed to capitalize on anti-tisting feeling. The great old party could not have the final push either.
A BJP official explained to Indian Express“On the day of the survey, we had 90% of our stands of stands operating at 8:30 a.m. while the congress was rushed so that their stands were all the stands even at 9:30 a.m. time has occurred because of our mobilization. »»
Many survey experts have also noted that the congress was unable to maintain their own campaign with solid messages.
Among the congress, there is also a conviction that Sanatan Dharma’s denigration could have played a role in their loss. ACHARYA PRAMOD KRISHNAM of the Congress said that Sanatan Dharma opposed his party.
