We had an interior overview of the 13-week intense basic training program from the United States Marine Corps. The chief video correspondent, Graham Flanagan, spent five days at the recruit training deposit of the Marine Corps in San Diego, California, where he observed different companies at different stages of the training.
The enlisted recruits that live west of Mississippi attend a basic training in San Diego, where women have only trained since 2021. Men and women train together, but live in separate team berries. Male and female recruits are not allowed to talk to each other during training. During seven week, recruited 40 miles north of San Diego in Camp Pendleton, where they finished their training.
The training camp culminates with an event of 54 hours known as the crucible, in which recruits endure the mental and physical challenges with a minimum of food and sleep. After finishing the crucible, the recruits receive the Eagle, Globe and Anchor pendant, marking their official transition to the Navies.
