The twins of Jennifer Lopez, Max and Emme, were at the top of her mind when she made the decision to divorce Ben Affleck.
“I said: ‘I promise you, it’s a difficult period, but you will see that I will go out on the other side stronger and better,’ ‘recalled Lopez, 55, in an interview with El País published on Friday.
“I promised that, and I did it. And they feel it now. It gives me a great feeling of peace in my life. ”
The Multihyphenate shared that it was “happier” that it is “a step further” than it was “a year ago, two years ago, three years ago”.
She said at the Spanish point of sale: “I am proud of myself for that, and I am proud to have been able to sail in my children through difficult times, that they are stronger and better because of this.”
Lopez – Who asked for the divorce of Affleck, 52, in August 2024 after two years of marriage – admitted that she “had a really difficult year”, during which “unexpected things happened”, in particular the cancellation of his tour.
“Everyone goes through difficult moments in their life. And that’s what you do in these moments that really define you, “she said.
“Not the relationship, not the man. What defines you is what you do with the experiences you face. I take these experiences – whether good or bad – and I bind them.”
The singer crossed the dark days by reading, meditating, by doing self-intake, praying and focusing on her children, who are now 17 years old.
“And over the years, I have made individual therapy, couple therapy, family therapy. I have everything.
“In the past year, I really deeply dug the models I had and why they occur and what is me who creates these models,” said Lopez, insisting that she is “able to be more aware” now.
Despite public control surrounding her love life, the actress remains confident.
“I am very aware of all the things that people say and think of me, and it’s ok because I really know who I am, and I know my heart, and my intentions are good and pure,” she said, stressing that “everyone makes mistakes”, what she “needed to learn.”
Lopez laughed while recognizing that she was “not exempt from the human condition”, developing: “I must also go through things, right? I have to make these lessons mine to evolve and grow. ”
