Eli Roth has spent decades in the entertainment industry, but he still continues the summit to speak to his friends from the new film’s school court he has just seen.

Although there have been several announcements on the horror section plans so far – including the financing of the next original Roth film, “Ice Cream Man” – his first project is preparing to go out in theaters. The initial acquisition title of the horror section was “Jimmy & Sgggs”, a foreign film Gory, Bonkers written and directed by Joe Begos, opened on Friday on around 800 screens. While Begos made a name for himself among the independent horror community with films like “VFW” of 2019 and “Christmas Bloody Christmas” of 2022, “Jimmy & Sgggs” is a completely different beast.

Roth therefore contacted the team of emblematic events to obtain extreme horror in theaters, and the partners went to Cinemacon in April with the hope of talking to theater owners. Indeed, he was able to set up a burst of meetings.
“What really shocked me was that I could sit down and talk to theater owners,” explains Roth. “They have just organized meetings in Cinemacon, and for a whole day from 7:00 am, I met each theater channel. They said, “We would like this. We would certainly do it if that said “Eli Roth present.” We will put it in our multiplexes. We are talking about AMC, Cinemark, Marcus, Ipic, Alamo… all. »»
Roth says it was also impatient to work with theaters to create additional advantages to encourage moviegoers and make theater owners also feel special. In order to interest the owners, Roth put pressure for an experience in theater first which does not precipitate the films in VOD after only 18 days. He also included personalized theater greetings for individual chains and theaters, as well as non -English -speaking messaging. For fans, there are unique extras. “Jimmy & Stiggs” includes false Roth trailers (like his “Thanksgiving” clip by “Grindhouse” from 2007) as well as a post-procureur of documentary in Begos’ apartment.
“I mixed the line between being a distributor and director and presentation and in front of the camera,” explains Roth. “I realized how important it is to talk to the theater channels so that they see how much you care about their business. I know that the filmmakers care about the virtue of making the film, but if you are an actor or a director or a producer and you want them to give you a fronted treatment, you would be intelligent with me. Beyond the possibility of success at the box office, Roth wants to help support the career of ambitious young filmmakers. He quotes the poster of his 2006 “Hostel” film – which was sported by “Quentin Tarantino Presents” at the top – as a major turning point in his career.
