House passes bill that would require ticket sellers to display total prices in advance

The House on Wednesday passed TICKET Act 388-24, which would require ticket sellers to tell consumers total prices (including fees) in advance and guarantee refunds when events are canceled or postponed.

The TICKET Act would add additional protections for consumers seeking to purchase tickets online, such as prohibiting speculative ticketing, or selling a ticket without actually owning it. It would also prohibit ticketing and resale sites from certain deceptive practices, such as using URL names that resemble an official location, to combat fraud.
