Hoophall Classic: Saturday’s best performers

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Saturday Hoophall Classic matches are sold out. It was standing room only inside Springfield College’s Blake Arena, with the majority of people there to watch. Bryce Jamesson of BC’s all-time NBA leading scorer, LeBron James.

James’ performance didn’t disappoint – find out more below – as the 6ft 4in finished his performance at the Hoophall with 16 points, earning game MVP honors. The exciting part of the performance is that with every bucket, with every steal from James, the crowd stood up and went crazy. The environment was fun.

But James wasn’t the only player playing Saturday at the Hoophall Classic. On3’s Jamie Shaw was joined by NBA staff and college coaches sitting courtside and he discusses the highlights and best players of the day.

MVP On3: 4-star PG Cayden Boozer (Duke)

Cayden Boozer is a point guard and in this game he made everything easy for his team and did everything you want a point guard to do. Listed at 6-foot-5, Boozer played at a fast pace, decelerating in traffic and accelerating in the open field. The Duke signee showed quick processing as well as passing touch, allowing his teammates to look clearly down the floor.

Boozer finished very well in this one. Featuring a range of fun finishes, floats and pull pulls. He is a solid bodyguard and raised the level of play of everyone around him in this one. Boozer finished with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. He was 9-12 years old on the field.

Five Star Plus+ PF Caleb Wilson

Man, the advantage with Caleb Wilson is so high. Which is interesting to see because he is already very productive as a player. The part with Wilson that immediately stands out is his defense. Wilson has great length and he slides well with perimeter-based attackers. He can also slide downfield, demonstrating excellent timing as a shot blocker.

Offensively, his game is interesting. He has some perimeter skills off the rebound and he showed himself capable of taking the advantage. In this one, he immediately had three defenders on him and space was tight in the paint, which led to a few turnovers when trying to make a play. Wilson showed good passing skills and he finished above the rim several times. He finished with 21 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals today. He shot 8-21 from the field and 1-2 from three.

SG 4 stars Jordan Smith (2026)

There’s something about Jordan Smith where he simply finds production. The 6-foot-3 guard plays a lot with the ball and he seems to constantly put his team in position to play. Smith is an athletic guard, he has twitch and explosive pop. With this, he is a high potential defensive play, keeping the ball on and off. This season he has made a concerted effort with the ball, and particularly in his pace.

Smith’s Paul VI trainer in Fairfax (VA) does a good job of lining up Smith in different spots to gain an advantage. He finished around the basket, moved the ball well and made his free throws. In the win, Smith finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. He was 7-14 from the field, 1-2 from three and 5-6 from the line.

Five-Star Plus+ PF Cam Boozer (Duke)

There is a model of consistency which Cam Boozer brings to the table what we expect. The 6-foot-8 power forward grabs rebounds every time he steps on the floor. He has strong hands and an innate understanding of positioning and angles. Boozer didn’t shoot the ball very well today, but he was still able to get his production back.

I liked that he went low, near the basket, to see a few pass and get back into rhythm. He has a soft touch around the basket and good footwork. His knowledge of angles and using his base to create an advantage is very impressive. Boozer finished with 25 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in today’s win. He was 10-20 from the field and 1-6 from three.

SG 4 stars Toundé Yessoufou (Baylor)

The thing with Toundé Yessoufou is that he systematically puts his team in the position of making a positive play. He’s an explosive athlete with good length, but it’s the nose of the ball that stands out the most when you watch him play. The 6-foot-5 wing is a load to handle going downhill. Not only does it have pop, but it also has excellent balance, capable of shifting weight downhill. Yessoufou also plays with a competitive tenacity that’s hard to ignore. You like the leadership he shows vocally and you see he leaves a lot on the field. Yessoufou has great instincts, top physical traits and a hot engine.

The 6-foot-5 wing finished his game at the Hoophall with a game-high 23 points, adding 8 rebounds and 5 steals in the win.

SG five stars plus+ Isiah Harwell (Houston)

There is a stable nature which Isiah Harwell brings to every game he plays. The strong framed off guard, listed at 6-foot-6, is still returning from an injury that kept him sidelined for most of the summer. Although he is still performing at a high level, you can tell his knee is still working at 100 percent. Playing two nights in a row, Saturday’s performance was good. He scored the ball well, driving down to the basket and knocking down three.

Harwell also took pride in his defense. Picking up the primary ball carrier all over the field and turning him over multiple times each possession. There is a rugged nature that Harwell consistently brings to the field at Mount Pleasant (UT) Wasatch Academy. In this one, Harwell finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. The five-star was 8-10 from the field and 2-3 from three. He has made an impact at every level of the game.

Christian Collins 4 stars (2026)

Just watch a quarter of a basketball game and you can immediately see the benefits. Christian Collins has. Listed at 6-foot-8, the wing has smooth athleticism with great length. What stood out in this game was his ability on the boards. Collins constantly cleaned up possessions on the defensive end and his skills on the ball allowed him to push the break to his team’s advantage.

Collins has a lot of tools, one thing I would like to see him do is have more confidence in asserting himself. Sometimes Collins would blend in and take a few possessions without getting a shot. Even with that, Collins moved up to No. 2 overall in the latest 2026 rankings update. And while he needs to tighten up some parts of his game, he has plenty of upside to exploit. Collins finished this game with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. He was 4-14 years old on the field.

SG 3 stars Bryce James (Arizona)

Bryce Jamesthe son of LeBron James, entered halftime with three points. He scored 13 points after halftime to help Chatsworth (CA) Sierra Canyon to a 14-point victory. James shot the ball high at Hoophall, knocking down three points on the catch and move. He also had an alley-oop dunk that brought the crowd to its feet.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard finished with 16 points and 4 steals, going 4-for-7 from three in tonight’s win.

Other top performers from Saturday’s Hoophall Classic

Five Stars Plus+ SF Tyrant Stokes (2026) – It wasn’t his best performance today. But even with turnovers piling up and shots not falling, Stokes showed impressive handling and some pinpoint passing. He is very strong, and On3’s No. 1 player in 2026 is also explosive. He finished with 9 points on 4-12 shooting while adding 6 assists.

Amir Jenkins, 3-star PG (2026) – This was my first time watching Jenkins live, and he was impressive. Very slippery with the ball, he systematically found himself in his places and was able to access open spaces in the half-court to finish. The Keeper at Worcester (MA) Academy has a lineup from programs like Providence, St. Louis, St. Bonaventure and others. It will be interesting to see how this develops.

PG 4 stars Deron Rippey (2026) – The speed stands out immediately. Rippey is a blur with the ball in his hands, attacking open spots on the floor in the half and all over the court. There were times he struggled to finish in the paint once the defense collapsed, but he played with good pace and knocked down a few threes. He is one of the best playmakers nationally in the 2026 class, and he looked like it today.

PG Julius 3 Star Award (2026) – Had a good day for Santa Monica (CA) St. Joseph’s. The 6-foot-3 guard switched well on and off the ball throughout the game. He was consistent with his shooting, mixing in some airballs with some impressive marks. But he put the ball in the right places and he has a physical appearance. He finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists while finishing 3-7 from three in the game.

SF Jalen Haralson (Notre Dame) 4 stars – Individually, the stat line looks solid for Haralson, but looking at the game, the 6-foot-7 forward didn’t have as much of an impact on the outcome as expected. Haralson played primarily on the ball and was bottled up for much of the match, unable to create much for himself or his team. Haralson is a connector, he moves the ball and can finish plays when placed in the appropriate areas. In this one, he finished with a solid 12 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals while shooting 5-7 from the field in 27 minutes played.

SG 3 stars Mariano Manciel (2026) – Hoophall was a stellar weekend for the 6-foot-3 shooting guard. What he really did to impress was shoot the ball. He is 11-14 from three in his two matches at the Hoophall Classic. His 28 points Friday and 21 Saturday also led his Wasatch Academy team in Mount Pleasant (UT) to two victories in the EYBL School League this weekend. It will be fascinating to see if Manciel maintains this pace, but he certainly benefited from the Hoophall stage.
