CBS continues its promotional campaign for Hollywood Squares. After giving the reboot a special broadcast behind the AFC divisional playoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, the network is now putting the game show in its natural habitat — during the day — for a limited release.
Episodes of Encore will air January 27 through Friday, January 31 at 2 p.m. ET and 1 p.m. CT/PT. On most stations, Hollywood Squares will temporarily replace reruns of another CBS game show, The price is right the originals of which were published earlier today.
The majority of Hollywood Squares incarnations over the past six decades have aired in daytime syndication. The CBS revival also features a current daytime syndication star, Drew Barrymore, who hosts a talk show on CBS stations.
Barrymore is the centerpiece of the revival, hosted by Nate Burleson, co-host of CBS Mornings and NFL analyst.
CBS also tinkered Hollywood Squares‘ airs in prime time, moving the show from 10 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays when it moves to nights next week.
Originally scheduled to premiere on January 9, Hollywood SquaresThe debut was pushed back a week due to the devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires.
