Other allegations of sexual assault have shaken Canadian hockey.
Peel regional police confirmed that the ministry was investigating an allegation of sexual assault in 2014 involving eight former players in the Ontario hockey league.
TSN / CTV reported the allegations for the first time in October. Peel police said on Wednesday that their special victims unit is investigating the issue.
In 2014, according to the initial report, the 22 -year -old complainant, then 22, was in a relationship with a Mississauga Steelheads player, 19. The report indicates that in November of the same year, she went to watch television, and when she arrived, eight members of the team were present.
According to the TSN / CTV report, after she and the player with whom she came out started to become intimate in a bathroom in the basement, the other players entered the small room and attacked it for 90 minutes.
None of the players were appointed and none of the allegations were tested in court.

The Ontario Hockey League said in October that it took the allegations “very seriously” and would cooperate with any police investigation.
The Steelheads moved from Mississauga to Brampton in June.
This case comes as five members of the 2018 Canada Junior World Hockey Team awaits the trial next month on allegations of sexual assault. Dillon Dube, Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote and Alex Formon were accused of sexual assault earlier this year in an incident that would have taken place in London, Ontario, in June 2018.
McLeod faces an additional accusation to have gone to the offense of sexual assault
Dube, McLeod and Formenton attended a London court in Ontario in person in November for the first time.
The players’ lawyers said that their customers plan to defend themselves against allegations, and that the five should argue non -guilty.
A trial before jury should start on April 22, which will be heard by judge Maria Carroccia.
Several weeks have been reserved for legal arguments before that, but the problems discussed in these hearings cannot be reported at this time due to a publication ban intended to protect the right to a fair trial for the accused.
The accusations cause an incident that would have taken place as players and many of their teammates were in London for a hockey Canada gala celebrating their gold medal at the world junior tournament this year.

Police launched a criminal investigation which was closed without accusations in 2019, then reopened in 2022.
Investigators said in February 2024 that they had been able to pay charges after gathering new evidence, but refused to provide additional details, citing the trial.
The case has fueled a more in -depth examination of sports organizations and how they manage the allegations of sexual misconduct.
Hockey Canada has made wholesale changes after a scathing independent report and lost major sponsors in the almost two years that followed this and other scandals. CEO Scott Smith was ousted and the board of directors also resigned in October 2022, linked to the way Hockey Canada managed allegations of sexual assault and how it has paid regulations.
In 2023, Nike permanently ended his partnership with the organization after having stopped it earlier, as well as other sponsors, taking into account the strong criticisms of the Directorate of Hockey Canada.
