Hillary and Bill Clinton accidentally left Chelsea at the Kremlin: ‘It was quite traumatic’

Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton’s big press tour continues as they promote their new Apple TV+ docuseries, Bold. The mother-daughter duo stopped The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday (September 6), where they played a game of ‘Mother Daughter Challenge’ and Hillary revealed a ‘traumatic’ holiday story from Chelsea’s youth.

In the track designed by host Jimmy Fallon, Hillary and Chelsea took turns wearing noise-canceling headphones as one answered a question and the other tried to match their answer. When Fallon asked, “What’s your craziest family vacation memory?” Hillary delivered a shocking response to the audience.

“We had a lot of crazy moments. I’ll tell you, I hope she doesn’t remember because it was quite traumatic,” she began. Fallon joked, “These are the best stories!” before Hillary continued her story, explaining, “We took her to Russia — Russia — when we went on a state visit when Bill was president.”

She added: “You know, there’s the formal goodbye, so Bill and I were ushered into the ‘beast’, the big limo, to head to the airport, not knowing we’d left it behind.”

The audience gasped and clapped as Fallon did his typical Fallon shtick, silently cracking and leaning behind his desk.

“I mean, can you imagine leaving my only child in the Kremlin? Especially with everything that’s happened?

Chelsea then took off her headphones, remarking: “That was a long answer”, but not letting the challenge trip her up. Proving they really are a close-knit couple, Chelsea matched Hillary’s disastrous holiday story on her first try: “When they left me at the Kremlin,” she said confidently.

Bold, the new show from Hillary and Chelsea, documents the stories and experiences of brave women who inspired the former Secretary of State and her daughter. The show, based on The Brave Women’s Bookwhich was published by Hillary and Chelsea in 2019, features interviews with Jane Goodall, Kim Kardashian, Goldie Hawn and more.

The eight episodes of Bold premieres September 9 on Apple TV+.
