Hilary Swank’s twin toddlers enter their terrible two – but she chooses to see him positively instead.
“There are times, but I call it the two teachers,” Swank, 50, told people.
“Because I feel like I was just in this place where they recognize so many new things,” said the actor. “And it must be really overwhelming to have everything you see is new.”
Since toddlers do not yet have logical reasoning skills, their behavior is often motivated by their feelings, said Swank.
“So when you want something, you just want it, you don’t have logical thinking skills. So for me, the two teachers are, I think, more appropriate,” she said.
The best way to approach your toddlers with a merger is to be patient.
“My thing is that I think it is really important to regulate yourself and stay calm and keep space for them,” she added.
Swank welcomed her twins, Aya and Ohm, with her husband, Philip Schneider, in April 2023, when she was 48 years old.
In September, Swank told Business Insider that she was happy to be an older mother.
“The person I was in my twenties and even in the thirties would have been a very different mother from that now,” said Swank.
“I am in a place where I just have much more patience and much more thanks to give, not only my children, but others around me,” she added. “I can give them much more than I could have at that time.”
Kristin Gallant and Deena Margolin, founders of Big Little Sits, an online parental platform, previously told Bi that they had had several tips for facing neighborhood crises for toddlers.
A key way to manage a child who launches the crisis is to avoid negotiating with them and climbing the conflict. Instead, parents should do their best to channel their inside. However, it is also crucial that parents avoid invalidating the feelings of their children, they said.
A Swank representative did not immediately respond to a request for comments sent by BI outside of normal hours.
