An Israeli strike in southern Lebanon killed a Hezbollah commander responsible for several rocket attacks against northern Israel, the army announced on Monday.

The strike was the last descent of the Israeli defense forces on figures alleged by Jerusalem to be agents or commanders of the terrorist group supported by Iran, while Israel and Hezbollah accuse a fragile truce in place since last year.

The Lebanon Ministry of Health has confirmed that a person had been killed in an Israeli strike on the city of Taybeh, which is around 2.5 kilometers (1.5 mile) from the border.

From October 8, 2023, Hezbollah pulled rockets, missiles and drones in northern Israel and other parts of the country in the quasi-quotation. band.

Israel launched an intense military campaign to end Hezbollah rocket fire in early October 2024, sending land troops in southern Lebanon and launching air strikes that killed a large part of the leaders of the terrorist group and destroyed a large part of its praised arsenal, considerably weakening the Iranian proxy.

The truce agreement agreed at the end of November is based on a resolution of the United Nations Security Council which indicates that Lebanese troops and the United Nations peacekeepers should be the only forces in southern Lebanon, and calls for the disarmament of all non -state groups, mainly Hezbollah, which used the region as a base to launch attacks against Israel under the sponsorship of Iran.

Lebanese president Joseph Aoun said on Monday that the question should be resolved “by communication and dialogue because in the end, Hezbollah is a Lebanese element”.

He urged Washington to put pressure on Israel to withdraw from five border points, saying that the current presence of the troops “complicates the situation”.
