In a television speech in Lebanon on Saturday evening, Hezbollah secretary general Naim Qassem said that Hezbollah had fully adhered to the cease-fire agreement with Israel, while Israel did not do it.
He added that Hezbollah cannot accept normalization or “the political paths by which” Israel “seeks to obtain what he did not succeed in achieving during the war”.
“The Lebanese state must take a stand … and” Israel “will not be able to achieve its objectives as long as the resistance, the people and the internal unity exist,” said Qassem.
“In Lebanon, we have become an important strength of resistance to the Israeli enemy. In Yemen, there was a qualitative addition to the confrontation with the Israeli entity. In Iraq, there is an important ability to resist American and Israeli arrogance, “he continued, adding that all groups would continue to resist Israel.
“QUDS day is a day of honor. A day to support Palestine. An action day for its release,” concluded Qassem.
“All the honor and grandeur in Palestine and Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Yemen and the Peoples who supported.”
First Israeli strike in Beirut for months
Friday, Israel led its first major strike on Beirut since a cease-fire agreement with Hezbollah was implemented in November, although the FDI has made minor strikes on several occasions along the Israeli border-Leban in recent months, citing ceasefire violations.
After the strike, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement that Israel would not authorize any fire on any of his communities.
“Anyone who has not yet internalized the new reality in Lebanon has received another example of our determination today,” began Netanyahu.
“The equation has changed – what was before October 7 will not come back. We will not allow any fire on our communities, not even a net.
“We will continue to apply the ceasefire forcefully, to strike anywhere in Lebanon against any threat to the State of Israel and to ensure that all our North residents return home safely,” concluded the Prime Minister.
