‘He’s gone crazy’ – Teammate Oleksandr Usyk appears cut off as he speaks after receiving a headbutt from John Fury

Oleksandr Usyk’s teammate claims John Fury headbutted him while shouting the Ukrainian boxer’s name.

Stanislav Stepchuk is part of the entourage of the WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight champions ahead of his never-ending fight against Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night.

On Monday, he was thrust into the spotlight when members of Usyk’s team clashed with Fury’s camp at a hotel ahead of interviews to promote their mammoth clash.

The footage shows members of each team chanting the names of their respective fighters before Fury’s father hits Stepchuk with a headbutt before confronting another member of Usyk’s team.

“Big John” was left covered in blood but still tried to continue the fight.

The 59-year-old shouted and shouted angrily while being restrained.

Stepchuk had a small cut above his left eyebrow as he spoke about the incident and accused Fury of going “crazy” before catching him off guard with the attack.

“He just exposed his mind, he went crazy,” he told Seconds Out through a translator.

“He gets angry because I only shout Usyk’s name.

“I was a little shocked. I didn’t see it coming. It was an irrational move.

Usyk’s pal says he refrained from fighting back because Fury’s father is much older than him – but he won’t let himself become a victim again during fight week.

“Yeah, sure,” Stepchuk added when asked if he was thinking of hitting back at Fury. “But because of the age difference, it wouldn’t be very fair.

Tyson Fury’s father John Fury was left bleeding after a heated clash with a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s team ahead of their massive fight in Saudi Arabia.

“I will be ready. If he is offensive, I will defend myself.

Usyk wasn’t there when it all started, but he saw video of the altercation and was surprisingly relaxed.

Stepchuk concluded: “(Usyk) was laughing. He made no comment. It was funny when we showed him the video.

Fury Sr apologized for his actions but gave a different version of events in a separate interview with Seconds Out. He said: “Sincere apologies to everyone involved, to be honest with you.

“That’s the way we are. Emotions and tensions are high. He was a very disrespectful guy, wasn’t he? If you get close in a fighter’s space, you’re going to cop for something, isn’t it?

“People don’t understand that we are real fighters. What matters to me is respect for my son and he didn’t show any of that. He mentioned my son and that was it, so he had to ‘to have.

“We don’t mind (the blood), it’s why we live, we fight people. It’s a regular occurrence for me.”

What is an undisputed world champion?

In boxing, an undisputed world champion is someone who wins all four major world title belts in their division – WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO. Fury currently owns the WBC while Usyk holds the WBA, IBF and WBO. Therefore, the winner will hold all four belts as the undisputed king.
