Herschel Walker’s son says his dad wasn’t a ‘quality’ candidate

  • The influential son of Herschel Walker lambasted his father’s Senate campaign after his loss on Tuesday.
  • Christian Walker told Buzzfeed on Wednesday that his father ran a “dumb” campaign.
  • He also dismissed suggestions that his critics contributed to the loss of his father.

The outspoken son of Herschel Walker unleashed a firestorm of criticism against his father this week after the conclusion of the former athlete’s failed Senate campaign, comparing the Republican candidate to an unprepared student.

“I often felt like he was like a kid doing a book report presentation and not reading the book, like he didn’t feel like he was studying properly,” said Christian Walker, 23, told Buzzfeed on Wednesday.

Young Walker’s interview with the media came just hours after Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock defeated his father in the Georgia Senate runoff election on Tuesday night. Herschel Walker’s campaign has tried to push back against growing controversy in recent months, including allegations that he paid for two women to have abortions despite his tough stance against abortion access.

“There is no quality as a candidate,” Christian Walker said of his father. “He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. His past is crazy. There was no quality there. It was ridiculous.”

The young right-wing influencer had previously addressed his father’s unorthodox campaign, lambasting the former NFL player in a series of tweets and videos earlier this fall after The Daily Beast reported on the abortion allegations.

“I don’t care about anyone with a bad past and taking responsibility. But how DARE YOU LIE and act like you’re a ‘moral, Christian, righteous man’. You’ve lived a life to DESTROY life other people. How dare you,” he said. tweeted beginning of October.

Christian Walker told Buzzfeed he begged his father not to run for office, citing his checkered past, which includes his own mother’s allegations that Herschel was abusive towards her and recent allegations that he fathered “secret” children.

“Please don’t do this to us and please don’t do this to yourself,” Christian Walker told his father ahead of the campaign. “That’s a bad thing. You have a good reputation. No one really knows your past.”

Herschel Walker has repeatedly denied the abortion and secret child claims on the track. A spokesperson for his Senate campaign did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.

Wednesday’s Buzzfeed article followed Christian Walker’s comments on social media about the loss of his father. The young walker tweeted On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump repeatedly called out his father “demanding” that he run in the second round, even as “everybody with a brain” begged him not to.

Christian Walker also dismissed suggestions that his comments throughout the campaign contributed to the loss of his father.

“Did I give new information? Literally, I didn’t. I didn’t say anything new. We all already knew about all the scandals,” Christian Walker said. “So no, they blew up the campaign running a stupid campaign. I didn’t do anything.”
