For those unaware, Google has announced that the next Pixel hardware launch event will take place on August 13. For the first time in several years, this event will take place at the tech giant’s headquarters in Mountain View.

76% of you think calling Made by Google 2024 earlier is a good move to get ahead of Apple and get these new devices into the hands of fans and buyers. I tend to agree. In years past, Google has often been overshadowed by Apple’s flashy September iPhone launches. Personally, I agree with this. Moving up the annual Pixel launch and holding a Made by Google event beforehand makes sense. We’ve seen Google heavily discount devices shortly after launch, which actively hurts initial sales. Snow hopes we don’t get an announcement followed by a delay in the physical launch of the hardware. Stating that “momentum and excitement” will likely be lost if Google waits a few months to release the Pixel 9 series after unveiling it on stage.
