Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced on Wednesday the restricted list of its obstacle class in 2025. The restricted list includes a Hitmaker from the start of the rock era which was put for examination, a revolutionary rap duo and A rock group that would be the first enthroned to have played mainly in Spanish. These three acts, as well as more than half of the full list of nominated 14, are taken into account for the first time. To be eligible for the appointment, artists must be at least 25 years of the release of their first commercial recording.

Bad business
Bad Company, the English rock group which released its first eponymous album in 1974, appears on the restricted list for the first time. The original programming of the Supergroup featured the singer Paul Rodgers and the drummer Simon Kirke, who were both in the free group, as well as the former guitarist of Mott the Hoople Mick Ralphs and the former bass player King Crimson Boz Burrell.

Black crows
The Black Crowes, led by the brothers born in Georgia Chris and Rich Robinson, are also beginners on the list of nominees. The Blues renewal group behind successes such as “She Talks to Angels” and “Hard to Great” suffered decades of ruptures, changes in queues and meetings. Last year, the brothers returned to their southern rock roots on their first new album in more than a decade, Bastards of happiness.

Joy Division / New Order
Division of Joy and New order Once again on the list appear as a consolidated candidate. The English rock groups both presented the guitarist Bernard Sumner, the bassist Peter Hook and the drummer Stephen Morris. The post-punk sound of Joy Division, which featured the baritone voice of Ian Curtis, gave way to the more electronic rhythms and the dance of New Order in the scene of the club of the 1980s.

Cyndi Lauper, another basic food in dance floors from the 80s, is nominated for the second time. The flamboyant pop star behind the power hymns of off-kilter girls like “the girls just want to have fun” collapsed in a certain number of genres during his career, including the Blues and the country.
Manole
ManĂ¡, the Mexican group behind Rock in Español strikes like “Oye Mi Amor”, “Clavado en a bar” and “Mariposa Traicionera”, are selected for the first time. If it is inducted, the group would become the first artists who made exclusively Spanish music to be included in rock hall.
Oasis
Oasis, the Britpop group led by brothers in quarrel, Liam and Noel Gallagher, is preselected for the second consecutive year. Last year, the Gallaghers put their beef aside and announced a tour in 2025 which led to a merger of ticketmaster and a government investigation.
Exceed
Outkast, the legendary rap group made up of Big Boi and André 3000, is nominated for the first time. The inclusion of Atlians on the restricted list of this year emphasizes the continuous effort of rock hall to extend its definition of rock by including the stars of the country, pop and hip-hop.

White stripes
The White Stripes duo, a duo of guitar, drums and voice that has made the Gray Garage Grenomed and inspired by Blues, is nominated a second time. Jack and Meg White – who first pretended to be brothers and sisters but in reality were former spouses – were at the forefront of the revival of the garage rock which would govern the early 2000s.
“These remarkable nominees have each created their own musical style and their attitude having an impact on the generations of music lovers and contributing to constantly evolving sounds and the continuous growth of rock & roll,” said John Sykes, President of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, in a declaration shared with NPR. The official list of enthronements will be announced in April and the enthronement ceremony will be held in the fall.
