As San Francisco becomes the Hot nexus From the AI World Revolution, young ambitious entrepreneurs flock to hatch their startups in Hackers.
Hackers offer founders the opportunity to eat, breathe and sleep, developing their startups while taking time for hackathons, raves and pitch sessions.
There is a plethora of these houses in the bay region. Some offer palatial residences with free rent and food, while others hardly understand that free Wi-Fi. The remains vary from a few weeks to as long as you wish. Some are just starting their first cohort this month, while others have existed for more than a decade.
Most founders discover the houses by word of mouth, and some do not even accept applications.
We asked the founders and VCS for their best houses for 2025. Here are the selections, as well as notable investors and founders for the most established houses.

This could be considered the Stanford Hacker Houses. HFø describes itself as “the most selective Ai residence for the repeated founders”. His famous donors include Marc Andreessen and Chris Dixon of A16z, as well as the providential investor of Ravikant and the IA fund of Google. Once admitted to the highly selective program, 10 founders undergo an intense 12 -week program in a mansion near the Alamo Square park which includes not only accommodation but also food and laundry. Most hackers are still massively dominated by men.
