  • The first episode of Boston Blue launched the next chapter of the Blue blood saga on CBS.
  • Donnie Wahlberg reprises his character of Danny Reagan in the detective series.
  • Three characters of Blue blood join Danny in the first episode of the spin-off.

The new CBS detective series Boston Blue sees Donnie Wahlberg resuming his Blue blood character, Detective Danny Reagan, as he begins a new era of his career in Boston.

Although Wahlberg is the only main actor in Blue blood refer to Boston BlueThere are still a few familiar faces from Danny’s past that appear during the spin-off’s premiere. Here is everyone from Blue blood who appears in the first episode of Boston Blue.

Sean Reagan (Mika Amonsen)

The first character we meet Boston Blue is Sean Reagan, the son of Wahlberg’s character who appears regularly in Blue blood (mainly during the family dinner scenes). However, Sean is not expected to be immediately recognizable to viewers, as he is now played by a new actor, Mika Amonsen. Sean was previously played by Andrew Terraciano in Blue blood.

Sean spends time with his friend and colleague at the Boston Police Department, Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner), in the opening scene of the series. After the two friends discuss Bruce Springsteen with a few women, Sean and Jonah rush to a burning building to assess the damage and help residents trapped in the fire.

After helping some fire victims, an explosion of flames slams Sean through a glass door, landing him in the hospital. He spends the rest of the hour unconscious in a hospital bed, only waking up at the last moment of the episode.

Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez)

Danny receives a phone call informing him of Sean’s injury – and he receives the call while he is half-undressed in his room with Maria Baez, his daughter. Blue blood partner. Baez and Danny kept their relationship strictly professional as partners in the NYPD — until the series finale, when Wahlberg’s character invited his colleague out for pizza.

Baez only appears in this scene from Boston Blue premiere, but the context of her brief appearance confirms that she and Danny followed through on that pizza date — and Danny’s first line of dialogue on the spinoff (“I thought we said that when we stayed over at my house, we turned off our ringers”) suggests that the duo’s romantic relationship has some strict parameters.

Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan)

The biggest Blue blood guest star in the Boston Blue the first is Erin Reagan, Danny’s sister who works as an assistant district attorney in New York. Erin surprises Danny in Sean’s hospital room to offer him emotional support as he investigates the fire that injured his son.

“I’m pretty sure I said no one needed to come,” Danny said.

“Since when have I listened to you?” Erin replies.

After Danny explains the details of the case — and shares that he immediately trusts Lena Peters (Sonequa Martin-Green) — Erin tells him she’ll stay “here until I know you’re okay.”

Erin later accompanies her brother to Lena’s family dinner, which is eerily reminiscent of Reagan family meals in New York. While Danny is in the bathroom, Lena asks her sister how her past has impacted her detective work.

“I can say that Danny is playing very close to the vest, but I have to know – with Sean being injured and the way he’s attacking this case, it’s like he’s been through this before. Is there anything I need to know?” asks Lena.

“Well, Danny plays Danny,” Erin responds. “He attacks every case like his whole family is on the line. But you’re right, he’s lost more than most.”

After the dinner scene introduces most of Lena’s family and Danny helps solve the case, Erin also appears in the episode’s final scene, which takes place in Sean’s hospital room.

“Are you ready for Sunday dinner?” » asks Erin.

“I guess there’s no roast,” Danny jokes.

“Roast beef sandwiches. Best I can do,” Erin said.

As the siblings say grace before eating, Sean wakes up and Erin calls a doctor.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Danny tells his son.
