Helldivers 2 players are calling for an in-game PSA after learning online that some planets grant release bonuses that disappear permanently after a defeat.

Did you know that there are certain planets in Helldivers 2 that have training bases that provide a boost to the liberation of all other planets, but only if they are under the control of Super Earth? Because many freedom fighters don’t.
In case you missed the Last Major Order alert, or simply didn’t read it carefully, or just as likely, forgot what it says, there are new training bases Super Earth Armed Forces (SEAF) on certain planets who send recruits to help in the liberation front against the Automata and Terminids.
Each planetary base grants a bonus in the form of a certain percentage increasing the collective effort towards the liberation of all planets, but only as long as that planet is under the control of Super Earth. For example, Vernen Wells made it 5% easier for us to liberate all other planets, but since this planet has since been taken by the Automatons and therefore its SEAF facility destroyed, it will now be 5% harder to reverse the trend. the enemy on all other planets in the future.
“But what if we freed a planet that we had previously lost? The bonus will surely come back, right? you may be asking. But you would be wrong. Once a planet occupied by the SEAF switches to Automata or Terminids, the bonus associated with it permanently disappears. This was confirmed during an exchange on Discord with Helldivers 2 community manager Twinbeard.
In response to the many Reddit threads lamenting the loss of the Vernen Wells release bonus, players are almost unanimous in their demand for some sort of public service announcement attached to the planets granting these bonuses so that they know how to prioritize them – especially since major orders can distract from them.
“Someone asks if we can get something like a SEAF emblem on the planets or something so we know which ones by looking at the map?”, reads a comment with 3,000 upvotes. “It should be stated on the chart that they are important, otherwise most people will just forget what these planets do,” reads another post, again with 3,000 upvotes. It seems like this is something people really want.
To be honest, it’s not like Helldivers 2 doesn’t tell you that at all on these SEAF planets, but it is also reasonable to expect such crucial information to be displayed more prominently. In lieu of this PSA, here is your call to action to defend Heeth, Angel’s Venture, and Aesir Pass, as these are the remaining bonus-granting planets in the ongoing fight for democracy.
I’ve reached out to Arrowhead for comment and will update this story if I hear back.
Helldivers 2 director confirms “we’re the bad guys” by saying the game’s original pitch was based on a classic Star Wars moment.
