A helicopter encountering engine problems made an emergency landing on Sunday afternoon on a road just north of Escondido, the authorities said.
The two people aboard the private aircraft were not injured after attracting a little before 2:20 p.m. on North Center City Parkway near Jesmond Dene Road, said Lieutenant Fletcher from the San Diego County Sheriff.
The helicopter landed in an area where North Center City Parkway takes place next to it and in parallel with Interstate 15, and the answer still caused traffic problems on the highway more than three hours later, Fletcher said.
The Flightaware flight tracking website has shown that helicopter was an ENSTROM 280 shark with a single piston engine. Flightaware showed that the plane had at least one flight earlier Sunday morning, take off around 10:20 am from Oceanside municipal airport and land about 30 minutes later at Ramona airport.
The helicopter took off just after 14 hours Ramona’s return to Oceanside, according to Flightaware.
No other information was immediately available.
