Derek Mcinnes promised to finish the season with Kilmarnock before finalizing any potential movement in the heart.
Hearts moved to the former boss of Aberdeen 53 years earlier this week and conditions have now been agreed between clubs after agreeing to pay the six -digit liberation clause in his contract.
Personal conferences are now underway in the background, Mcinnes should move to Tynecastle.
Mcinnes could have faced the clumsy scenario to return to Killie in his very first match in charge, with Hearts due to Rugby Park in the last game of the season on Sunday.
But, however, negotiations take place with the heart, he is determined to see the rest of the season with the club he has helped to rebuild in recent years.
“I was led to believe that clubs agreed yesterday and discussions continue,” said Mcinnes, whose team moves to face Motherwell on Wednesday evening.

Mcinnes now seems ready to take care of the hearts after the two clubs agreed
“I went to have breakfast with Billy Bowie and I clearly focus on the end of this season with Kilmarnock.
“We still have two very important games and we want to try to finish the season as strong as possible.
“This is where it is. We try to be as transparent as possible, so there are discussions in progress, but it is for others. For me, it’s just to focus on tomorrow night’s match in Motherwell.
“Billy was brilliant, we have a solid relationship.
“It has always been the key to me, having this solid relationship with the owner. It allows me to face it. He is busy with his own business.
“It is so important to the club, of vital importance, and sometimes it does not always get this credit. But, without him, everything would be so much more difficult here.
“So we had a good relationship and it will continue.
“It is important for me that, if and when I leave Kilmarnock, I can always shake hands, we can always have a drink, we can always speak as openly as us now.”
Mcinnes took office as a Killie boss in January 2022 and spoke of them from the championship before leading them to Europe last season.

The Ayrshire club obtained its status as Prime Minister for next season with a 3-2 victory against Dundee last Saturday.
When asked if the last days had been difficult due to speculation, he added: “I think that sometimes these things happen in life. I have always been opened with the club.
“I really appreciate my time here and, until something makes you think twice, maybe try something else, you just focus on work in hand.
“ I was informed yesterday that the clubs had reached the agreement and that the discussions continue
“I also reiterated to the club today that I intend to be here for the last two games and I must make sure that this message is strong and clear, for my players, for everyone.
“We are dealing with what is before us now, and then we can take something beyond.”
