On March 22, Middleton, 42, announced that she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment after doctors discovered the cancer during her scheduled abdominal surgery in January.

“So my medical team advised me to undergo preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of this treatment,” the mother of three revealed in a video, insisting that she is “doing well and that she gets stronger every day.”

“This has of course been a huge shock, and (Prince) William and I have done everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she said.

“As you can imagine, this took a while. It took me a while to recover from major surgery and be able to start my treatment,” she continued. “But, more importantly, it took us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that worked for them, and to reassure them that everything will be okay.”

“And of course I wish I had kept my mouth shut and we all pray for Princess Kate and King Charles,” he said, referring to the monarch who also received his own cancer diagnosis.

“And so, I just had to say it up front. “This is the first opportunity to get back in front of a live microphone,” he added, explaining why he had not commented on Middleton in the run-up to his March 22 announcement.
