Heartbreaking message from grieving son of murdered young mum Molly Ticehurst as PM and police chief join hundreds of mourners for her heartbreaking funeral

The son of murdered mother Molly Ticehurst delivered a heartbreaking message to mourners at an emotional funeral service for the young professor’s assistant.

The five-year-old’s farewell was read through a family friend on Thursday afternoon during the service at Forbes Rugby Club in central-west New South Wales.

Ms Ticehurst, 28, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend Daniel Billings last week.

“Dear mom, I love you. I miss our vacations together and our tickle fights,” said son Nate.

“I wish you were here, I miss you a lot and I will love you every day and every night. You are the best mom in the world.

The circumstances of Ms Ticehurst’s death were not mentioned at the funeral, except that it was seen as a “heinous act” and a call for an end to domestic violence against women.

“I hope it’s true because I would like to have more memories with you,” he said between tears.

“Every parent wants to see their child change the world, but not at this cost.”

NSW Premier Chris Minns and NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb joined hundreds of mourners for the service.
