- Brisbane lost the 20-18 match at Golden Point Extra Time
Reece Walsh should be absent up to six weeks after undergoing a serious knee injury in the defeat of Brisbane 20-18 Golden Point against the Warriors.
Walsh, 22, has not yet been a scan, but the broncos confirmed the posterior crosslip injury in a statement on Sunday morning and said that there would be 4 to 6 weeks of action.
This length of dismissal would also exclude him outside the Queensland team for the opening of the State of Origin series on May 28.
Walsh was injured in the right knee in the first minutes of Saturday night’s confrontation in Auckland in a collision with the opponent Kurt Capewell.
He played the whole match but spent a little time on the wing, with Selwyn Cobbo returning to the back.
It was a window on what coach Michael Maguire can do with Cobbo when he envisages new changes to the spine of the game.

The Broncos played stupid football to lose the match.
Walsh was one of the culprits when his kick -off to start Golden Point became dead and the Warriors Half Luke Metcalf won a 50 -meter penalty to win the match in what Fox Sports commentator, Warren Smith, called “ the most extraordinary Golden Point that we saw for a while ”.
Walsh sometimes hooked and limited just 50 m from seven points.
The Broncos welcome the channels of competition canterbury on Thursday evening and will need all their players at their peak.
“He did something at the knee, so it was a credit for Reece to fight throughout the game,” said Maguire after the match.
Five-eighth Ben Hunt made four mistakes in his worst display of the year and was transferred to Hooker in the second half, Billy Walters going to No. 6.
Walters had moved from the bench to start Hooker in place of the Rake Cory regular peace.
The team played better with Hunt at Hooker and Walters at six. Maguire said that he had always understood where he wanted his game leaders before the shock of the bulldogs.

The bitter blow seems ready to exclude walsh outside the opening of state match on May 28
“I still learn the players,” he said.
“In the game, we were under pressure and things did not go in our direction, so I thought I change a little.
“When Hunty jumped in the half -failed and Billy played n ° 6, it added something to us. This subtle change put us in a position to take almost the game, so it was nice to see the boys adapt.
The Broncos dragged 18-6 at the end of the match but retaliated. They had the chance to save it in the last seconds of regular time, but could not put themselves in position for a basket.
Maguire said there were efforts and fights, but conceded “we must be smarter”.
