“He fears no one”

Tommy Fury has insisted that the cancellation of the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight was not his brother’s fault.

Tyson and Usyk were scheduled to face off on April 29 at Wembley Stadium, but the fight never materialized as the boxers could not agree on terms.

Usyk promoter Alex Krassyuk blamed Tyson’s gate saying, “We were desperate to find a compromise. Tyson didn’t want to compromise.

Meanwhile, Tyson took to social media after the fight was canceled to fire a rude tirade at Usyk, calling him every insult under the sun.

Talking about the collapse of negotiations on Saturday morning AM soccerTommy said: “[Tyson] doesn’t like Usyk right now.

He went on to defend his brother, as he explained, “There’s a lot of politics in boxing, but I wanted to say this firsthand. The reason this fight doesn’t happen isn’t because of Tyson at all.

“He wants to fight, he has proven himself to everyone. He went and fought Deontay Wilder after three years away, he will fight any man, he fears no man.

“Especially not a cruiserweight who can’t do anything anyway. He’s too small, what’s he going to do.

“So it is what it is, but it’s not Tyson’s fault.”

Tommy was then asked if he believed the Tyson vs. Usyk fight would ever happen and he replied, “Yeah definitely.

“All of these massive fights will happen, but it just takes a while to happen.”

For now, however, it looks like unified WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Usyk can continue to fight his WBA mandatory challenger, Daniel Dubois, while another Briton in Joe Joyce would be the favorite to face Tyson next.
