Hayley Atwell had an invisible Costar during a combat scene in “Mission: Impossible – The Final Recking”.
During a recent appearance in “The Tonight Show”, Atwell revealed that she was more than eight months pregnant during the filming of a fighting scene in “Final Reckoning”, but still managed to make all her own stunts.
“During this combat sequence, we came back several times to add a few elements to it,” she said while host Jimmy Fallon introduced a glimpse of the scene. “And in this clip, I am actually eight and a half months pregnant.”
She continued: “I am serious. Yes. And I must say that I was so good. Everyone was so favorable and they said to themselves: “Oh, you can sit down, and we will have a double blow to break. And I said to myself: “No! So I did it, and here it is.
Atwell, who plays a thief named Grace who joins with the IMF, plays in “Final Reckoning” alongside Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, twenty Rhames, Esai Morales, Angela Bassett, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Nick Offerman and Hannah Waddingham. The film is now in theaters.
Atwell is not the only one who had to push their physical limits for the “mission: impossible” final. The Cruise franchise singer recently shared that by turning an underwater sequence extended in the film, he could not see because of the aquatic lights.
“Often, I cannot see because of the reflection of the light,” said Cruise. “I was going, in a way blind, spending a lot of time on the whole to find (the movement) while we determine the blows. Then when I do it, I have trouble. The more the costume, when it is wet, increases the weight by about 125 pounds.
