Hayden Christensen will resume his role as Moody Padawan’s teenager who has become Sith Overlord, Anakin Skywalker, for Ahsoka season 2. The news was confirmed by the actor himself on Friday evening during the celebration of Star Wars in Tokyo.
During a panel between the star of the series Rosario Dawson, the creator Dave Filoni and the executive producer Jon Favreau, Christensen emerged from the stage outside, joining the trio for the discussion. He waited for the last moments of the panel to announce his return to the “Star Wars” universe (via the Hollywood Reporter).
“I can’t share much, but Anakin will be back for season two,” said Christensen.
Christensen made his debut as an Anakin Skywalker in “Star Wars: Attack of the Clone” from 2002 and his follow-up, “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” in 2005. He later appeared as Skywalker and Dark Vader in the Disney + “Obi-Wan Kenobi”. It was also presented in two episodes of season 1 of “Ahsoka”.
Elsewhere during the celebration of Star Wars, Filoni explained how he planned to continue the story of Anakin after his work on the 2008 animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”. He also underlined his respect for the brain of Franchise George Lucas.
“Anakin’s story has already been told. George has done,” said Filoni. “I have nothing to add to that. I have nothing to explain on this subject. What George did is what he wanted and is perfect. The story I tell concerns Ahsoka. The reason for which Anakin can be there is because he is relating to his story.
