‘Has his smile back’ – Borussia Dortmund ‘will try everything’ to keep Jadon Sancho but will make Manchester United fear

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has confirmed that the club will do everything to keep Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.

The 24-year-old has rebuilt his reputation since returning to Germany in January after being left out by Erik ten Hag at Man United.

Ten Hag banned Sancho in late September after an argument in the dressing room, leading Dortmund to loan him out during the winter window until the end of the season.

After taking time to get back into shape after months without playing a single minute, the winger has now found his form.

Sancho was widely praised for his eye-catching performance in Dortmund’s 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final first leg last week.

Dortmund, however, are not prepared to give up Sancho without a fight, with Kehl claiming the player had ‘found his smile again here’.

Speaking to German media Welt, according to Fabrizio RomanoBVB sporting director said: “We will do everything to keep Jadon Sancho here.

“But Manchester United also see how well they are playing at the moment.

“Maybe they also want to sell it for profit or bring it back.

“We will see.”

Sancho has scored three goals and registered two assists in 17 appearances in all competitions since returning to Dortmund.

He was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 5-1 win over Augsburg, with manager Edin Terzic likely having one eye on Tuesday’s second leg against PSG.

He said: “So let’s say this: yesterday he played very well and he is a very good player, yesterday he showed why Manchester United bought him and he showed that he is great value for Manchester United Which is good.

“I’m happy for Jadon, for yesterday’s performance and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
