Harry Kane’s heartbreaking reaction to Champions League defeat caught on camera goes viral as awareness sets in

New footage shows the heartbreaking moment Harry Kane realized another golden chance to win a trophy had gone.

The England captain and Bayern Munich’s place in the Champions League final looked all but confirmed before the final ten minutes of the semi-final against Real Madrid.

But a quick double from Joselu late in the match caused the German giant to miss – and Kane’s reaction spoke volumes.

New footage shows the England captain, who was withdrawn in the closing stages, sitting on the bench and leaning on the seat in front of him with his hand over his mouth as he watched his side collapse.

He then lays his head on the seat in front, looking completely desperate as he realizes that his wait for a trophy was going to continue.

The German giants, who had already missed out on their Bundesliga victory against Bayer Leverkusen, were 1-0 up thanks to Alphonso Davies scoring his first ever Champions League goal in the 68th minute, with Kane grabbing the assist.

The former Tottenham striker was then sent off five minutes from time in the tie to replace former Stoke striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

This is despite the fact that Kane has scored 44 goals in all competitions this season and is the top scorer in the Champions League this season with eight goals.

And almost as soon as Kane and teammate Jamal Musiala were taken off, Los Blancos sprung into action.

Ironically, it was Choupo-Moting’s former Stoke player Joselu who scored a quickfire double late on to seal victory and take a place in the Champions League final, leaving Bayern stunned.

Bayern thought they had sent the tie into extra time with an even later goal, but it was flagged for offside before it hit the back of the net, with the visitors furious at the decision.

talkSPORT’s Jason Cundy called Kane’s withdrawal ‘the worst manager replacement’ – but after the match, Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel pointed out that Kane had an injury to justify his stance.

Harry Kane jokes about Jamal Musiala’s regrets as he reveals he teases Bayern Munich teammate for choosing Germany instead of England as national team ahead of Euro 2024

“He couldn’t continue. He was playing with back pain and he couldn’t continue, his back was frozen,” Tuchel said.

Kane of course has the chance to win a trophy with England this summer, as the Three Lions head to Euro 2024 in June.

But the wait to win silverware with Bayern continues.

He came incredibly close to Tottenham in the Champions League final, but missed out to Liverpool. He also failed with England in the Euro 2020 final, losing to Italy on penalties.
